"I will stand strong until I draw my last breath."
These are words of empowerment from Ms. Camille Arcilla, a 30 year old young lady from Biñan Laguna. She was diagnosed with systemic lupus back in May 2014. Her symptoms shown in chronic fatigue, severe hair loss, butterfly rashes, joint pains, insomnia and high fever. She was given medications to manage her lupus. Yet, in July of year 2016, a major flare in her lupus took placed. She suffered pneumonia, high creatinine levels which concluded that she has a complications in her kidneys which is also known as lupus nephritis and these caused her to have herpes zoster at the left side of her stomach through her back. Aside from these, she has low potassium level and required to have the administered transfusion. However, the list never ends from there, from her major flare, Camille suffered a mild stroke that led to her speech slurring, she had to undergo through the debridement operation that resulted to her paralysis for 4 months.
For the first few months of her confinement, Camille felt so emotionally sensitive and anxious. She explained that fighting her disease is not easy. As a matter of fact, there'll be days that she'll feel like giving up, her pain requires to be felt. Yet, she decided to fight stronger, and endure the pain because despite of all these challenges, she still believes that God has a purpose why she is placed in such circumstance.
Camille at the moment cherishes every second of her life with her family and friends. She continue to believe that God will provide her needs to fight her disease.
